You are convinced that university education needs more practical relevance?
You think that rural areas should be such a practical field?

And that it needs new teaching and learning formats?
Great! Because RURASMUS makes it possible!

Within existing structures.

Explore options together

A RURASMUS semester, like an ERASMUS semester, is compensated with 30 ECTS. The program

is not yet(!) an official EU program. Therefore universities/universities/universities of applied sciences must check individually the options for an implementation within the framework of existing curricula. Within the existing structures there could be for example the following options:

  • individually tailored course packages
  • completion of a semester abroad, flex semester, practical semester, pro bono semester
  • completion of bachelor, master, master/diploma theses

Creating new opportunities.

Set new priorities

As a teacher, are you enthusiastic about the idea of having students, as part of their curricula, immerse themselves in rural areas, conduct field research, develop projects through contact with affected people and develop them further in an iterative process? In the opinion of RURASMUS, the confrontation with urgent issues and challenges of rural areas can and should be a (new) focal  point in university teaching. Let us consider together which forms of cooperation are necessary and possible for this.

We would be pleased if you would contact us at office@rurasmus.eu.

Together we will think about possibilities to make RURASMUS a reality at your college/ university/ university of applied sciences.

With a European on-campus semester
we enable students …

… a practical laboratory to apply previously acquired knowledge.

… to acquire new skills and competencies.

… to actively shape the future of rural areas.

You would like to know who we are and why we believe there should be a RURASMUS semester for students?
